Snow Training, Monday, December 20, 2010
On Monday, December 20, 2010 HRR had canceled the evening training associated with abundant snow and probably an expected traffic nightmare and risk of people falling. In the running group, the conclusion was quickly drawn running in virgin snow at dusk would be fun - very special - and the chance to be breaking your ankles almost absent, you come down softly. Two running groups turned out to have a reasonable turnout. Waalsdorpervlakte and Meijdendel and at night under a heavy snow was indeed as expected: a pretty face, nice and cold. Along SHAPE (TNO), the clock and then a big circle around the farm Meijendel. Refreshments. Great fun.
During the consecutive inevitable drink afterwards: peppered chips and .. it was once again mentioned how much fun running can be (crazy huh, they always say there). That if you want to run a marathon every month, in January there is really nothing and the ever-present alternative: on the beach, from The Hague, due north to Noordwijk, coffee and back. Along 45 km. Disadvantage: does not count for the 100MC: contest, tender, track measured out at least three participant. With .. and peppered chips increased in the group vote on, "we'll arrange it ourselves ',' do it ',' maybe, can not ',' maybe, should not ',' do it, we like it ',' would be fun', ' then how is that run called, "" ... "" ... ',' black marathon ','..',' ... 'and many .. and peppered chips. The next morning the decision was made: just do it. For a good cause. Second Sunday of January. And of July, another off day in the marathon season. The Hague has no marathon, apart from the one in 1998. Now it has a marathon again
